Behavioral Health Technician

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides group behavioral interventions in a clinical setting for children and youth from 2 to 21 years-old diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disorders. BHT-ABA staff work with participants under the supervision and guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. Working as part of a clinical team helping to positively impact the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families

Assignments

  • Support participants in a range of therapeutic activities that relate to each consumer's Individual Treatment Plan

  • Implement the consumer's treatment plan in accordance with the written protocols

  • Collectdata to document services provided, obtaining appropriate signatures and collecting other relevant documentation 

  • Build rapport and maintain clinical boundaries with participants and families

  • Work collaboratively with the family in conjunction with other members of the treatment team

  • Work closely with the supervising Behavior Analyst to provide input on response to treatment and progress

  • Accurately document individualized programs and data recording related to all areas determined in the treatment plan

  • Submitaccurate clinical documentation within specified time frames

  • Record data within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system

  • Maintain billable hours, as assigned

General Assignments

  • Record time and attendance via HRIS and Timekeeping system

  • Attend meetings/training as requested/required

  • Other duties as assigned 

  • Model the organization's mission and values

Education & Qualifications

  • Board-Certified Autism Technician (BCAT)OR Registered Behavior TechnicianORBoard-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)ORhave a High School Diploma and have completed or be willing to complete the 40-hour RBT trainingOR have a High School Diploma or the equivalent, at least 2 years' experience as a BHT, and have completed or be willing to complete the 40-hour RBT Training 

  • Ability to deliver and accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.

  • Effective time management and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

  • Commitment to maintain client and family confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA laws and internal policies and procedures.

  • Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, technology & telehealth, and relevant training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard.

  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

  • Ability to remain calm in crisis situations and respond efficiently
