Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician provides critical services for Familylinks by ensuring a safe environment for all clients, staff, and visitors in all aspects of our facilities and equipment. Custodial Technicians are to manage and oversee the general upkeep of the building and its infrastructure.

Assignments
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs to maintain the upkeep of the Agency Facility and property in accordance to all regulatory codes and contract regulations.
- Perform basic electrical, basic plumbing, painting, plaster/drywall, light carpentry, light masonry work, landscaping to include snow removal, possible appliance repairs, and flooring
- Complete janitorial tasks such as trash removal and floor care
- Respond to emergency calls for instances such as power loss or emergency repairs. Emergency calls may include snow removal during winter months.
- Use tools, specific task methods, and equipment used in building trades. Such as carpentry, painting, masonry, cement work, electrical work, simple HVAC, and appliance repairs.
- Employ repair methods and maintenance protocols for structures, furnishings, equipment, and work safety practices.
General Assignments
- Record time and attendance via HRIS and Timekeeping system
- Attend meetings/training as requested/required
- Model the organization's mission and values?
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years of experience in general maintenance and/or custodial/janitorial work. The ability to assess the maintenance needs of the assigned Facility, equipment, and the capability to take corrective action is required.
- Valid driver's license
- Proficiency with MS Office, computer/laptop, tablet and cell phone required
- General knowledge of basic electrical, basic plumbing, light carpentry, painting, and an introductory knowledge of HVAC .
- Working knowledge of basic landscaping.
- Ability to work hands-on, along with the capacity to plan for the work with the proper tools and materials.
- Willingness to learn Familylinks ticketing system
Working Conditions
- Schedule may require working days, evenings, and weekends as well as to be available for on- call status 24-7.
- This position works in a commercial, office and small campus setting, and will work solely at the assigned Facility.
- Exposure to clients with substance abuse, mental illness, and communicable disease is highly likely.
- Must be able to work with limited supervision, read and complete work orders, complete daily work logs, and use the computer to check emails and other related computer work
- Environmental conditions: Most duties in this class are performed under periodically disagreeable working conditions, including working outside at times in inclement weather and exposed to water, dust, dirt, grease, paint fumes, chemicals, equipment noise and vibrations. Janitorial tasks may expose individuals to food waste, or bodily waste such as vomit, feces or blood.
- Physical Requirements: Lifting 100 lbs. maximum (with mechanical or human assistance) with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Position involves pushing, pulling, and reaching and long periods (6-8 hours) of walking and standing
