Residential Youth Care Worker (DSP) $2,000 Sign-on-Bonus $18.00-$22.00 an hour.
Full-Time Weekend Block
16-Hours Saturday and Sunday + 1-8 Hour shift during the week
Position Summary: The Direct Support Professional I provide direct service work with at risk populations in a residential setting, with emphasis on ensuring health and safety, obtaining permanency, and enhancing overall well-being in a mentoring environment. Employees in this role must work 16-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, plus one 8-hour shift during the week. The Residential Youth Care Worker must also demonstrate the values of Familylinks while assisting residents with the development of life skills.

Direct Support Professional Requirements:
- Working knowledge of child/adolescent development.
- Experience working directly with youth preferred.
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency with MS Office, computer/laptop, tablet and cell phone required

Assignments
- Develop and maintain mentoring environment appropriate to at risk population, emphasizing the health and safety of residents, staff, and community, while complying with facility and property maintenance standards as defined by the agency and by external regulatory and contractual parties.
- Provide required levels of supervision and security for residents at all times.
- Promote healthy, professional, and mentoring relationships with residents in all daily living activities that facilitate competency development, improve safety, enhance permanency attainment, and increase overall well-being.
- Participate in the development of all service components, including referral and intake, assessment, service planning and delivery, and discharge, as indicated and/or as directed.
- Provide timely, accurate and professional written and verbal documentation of all program operations and service components.
- Anticipate and/or intervene directly in crises, using approved behavior management and crisis intervention techniques, including but not limited to: de-escalation techniques, active listening; conflict resolution; proximity control, body language, individual and/or group strategies; and, restrictive procedures (Safe Crisis Management). A passive physical restraint is the last crisis intervention utilized when a child attempts to harm self or others and all other standard redirections (verbal) have not been successful ie. Suicide attempt.
- Supervise and document the administration of prescribed and non-prescribed medications in accordance with state regulations and agency policies.
- Provide transportation for residents to ensure their safety on appointments, in accordance with agency policies and legal mandates
- Maintain confidential information and follow HIPAA guidelines
