Summary: The Housing Resource Specialist provides direct care services to Familylinks at risk youth and young adults 18-24 years of age. The Housing Resource Specialists duties include needs assessment, goal setting, case management, Housing searches, and referrals and resource connections.
The Housing Resource Specialist is primarily responsible for connecting clients to Housing resources to aid in securing and maintaining housing. The Housing Resource Specialist will provide various options for supporting clients through partnerships and connections to community resources.
Essential Job Duties
- Implements and maintains the agency's mission, vision and values in all facets of performance, which includes sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony.
- Proficient computer skills in Word, Microsoft and other data management systems.
- Completes Needs Assessment and develops goals to work with clients to identify appropriate resources to achieve (outcomes)
- Develops and maintains goals through case management services and regular follow up with clients.
- Promotes a healthy, professional, and teaching relationship with clients. This relationship should be strength based, and client centered.
- Participates in landlord engagement and housing searches.
- Works with partners to explore training and employment options for clients
- Provides movie in assistance and connections to other community resources/services ( as needed)
- Creation and Delivery of a monthly Housing workshop to be presented for both ASIL and DOCS clients
General Assignments
- Record progress and data into data management systems.
- Attend meetings/trainings as required
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications
- A High School Diploma and two years relevant experience or a Bachelor's Degree.
- Valid Pa Driver's License; Act 33/34 clearances; health assessment that indicates free from communicable disease and able to work with at risk clients
- Schedule may require working evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, computer/laptop, tablet, and cell phone required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
- Must be self-motivated, driven, flexible, and strong problem solving skills.
- Strong computer skills along with effective communication both verbally and in writing
- Support the organization's mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony
- Ability to manage confidential information
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize participant needs
Working Conditions
- Position requires attendance at numerous community-based settings. Working with clients with complex needs including Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol, communicable diseases, verbal and physical aggression.
- This position requires frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, and walking.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- At times it may be necessary to travel to other Familylinks locations for training and meetings.
