The position is located at the Vintage Center for Active Adults (421 N. Highland Avenue, East Liberty, PA 15206). Vintage is a senior community center where independent adults ages 60 and older come to stay healthy in body and mind. Attendees participate in physical fitness classes, as well as art, culture, games (cards/pool/bingo) and more. We are open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and lunch is served each day. Participants get to Vintage by driving, taking the bus, ACCESS/OPT and walking.

The Receptionist will be working directly with adults ages 60 and older to greet them when they arrive at Vintage and direct the to the appropriate staff person when they have questions. Starting at $16/hour. 

Position Summary

The Receptionist provides a critical service to supporting Vintage. The Receptionist is the first point of contact by greeting visitors and answering and routing incoming telephone calls. Secondary duties include day-to-day support utilizing clerical, secretarial and administrative skills to the various components of Familylinks.

Essential Job Duties

• Answer multi-line phone in a professional and pleasant manner, screen and correctly direct calls to the appropriate staff.
• Answer visitor inquiries about Vintage and provide basic information as to services and programs.
• Greet visitors and notify staff as people arrive for appointments.
• Maintain neat and organized appearance of the lobby and Front Desk area.
• Monitor visitor/staff sign-in using the tracking method appropriate to that location.
• Assist in daily mail, shipping and receiving routines.
• Perform clerical duties as requested.
• Monitor parking lots and smoking areas for violations of Familylinks policies.

General Assignments

• Record time and attendance via Human Resources Information Systems and Timekeeping system as applicable.
• Attend meetings/training/supervisions as requested/required.
• Model the organization's mission and values.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School or GED diploma is required with two or more years of clerical or customer service experience preferred.
• The Receptionist must demonstrate the ability to interact with staff, any of our guests, and clients in a pleasant, professional manner along with the ability to compose and formulate professional looking documents, letters, etc.
• The Receptionist must be able to use standard office equipment and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and balance receptionist responsibilities with clerical support.
• Planning, time management, and solid organizational skills.
• Solid customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.
• Ability to deal with change, perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.
• Use financial and other resources efficiently and effectively.
• Support the organization's mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony.
